Gaining experience from intense love for life and decades of association with City Police Organisation, I weave compelling tales that echo the voice of man and society, expectation and insight, dream and disappointment, cruelty and humanity, justice and compassion.
"Life is a journey, journey towards humanity."- Author's Philosophy
Amitava Paul | 2025
A thought-provoking novella, where life is seen through the lens of games.
Amitava Paul | 2025
From outside nobody could understand Hinduism. A fascinating exploration of the world's oldest living festival.
Amitava Paul was born on 27 October 1961 in Ariadaha, a small village behind Dakshineswar, a northern suburb of Calcutta famous for its Kali Temple. At the age of four and a half, his family moved to a village in Hooghly District. His childhood and adolescent days were filled with rural fun and adventure. Village life with its people, open paddy fields, winding roads, the gentle morning breeze, distant banyan trees with their hanging aerial roots, and large ponds under the shade of massive trees left a lasting impression on him despite his higher education in Calcutta colleges and long service in the City Police Organization.
His first story was published in the school magazine, and a detailed travelogue also appeared during his tenth standard. Several jingles were published in a Bengali magazine named Parivartan during his college days, and his poetry and short stories were featured in "Poetry Today". However, he could not publish his literary works during his service due to numerous restrictions in his government job. After his retirement, he published his first novella, "Game Theorem", on the Amazon KDP Self-Publishing platform, and his second book "Kumbha Mela: Why When Where And Thereafter" was launched on Rakhi Purnima (8.8.2025).
